For over 40 years, James has been following his curiousity and sharing insights with others about people’s behaviours in the context of purposeful organisations. This was as a blue-collar worker, university student, researcher, senior HRD manager, HRD consultant, university lecturer and member of various professional groups.
His experience has been primarily in manufacturing, retail and automotive industries.
He spent four years (1997 - 2001) as a consultant in the HRD area working in a variety of industries and with a variety of organisation levels. During this time he was also a part-time lecturer on Masters Programs at Swinburne University Graduate School of Management in the areas of leadership, organisation dynamics and cross-cultural management and was awarded to title of Teaching Fellow..
He returned to consulting in mid 2017.
In between  the consulting times, James was Training and Development Manager for BMW Group Australia (2001 - 2010), Training and Development  Manager for BMW Group Importer Markets  based in Munich (2010 - 2013) and Dealer HRD Development Manager for BMW Group Japan (2013 - 2017).
James’ particular attributes are a business outcome focus, ability to quickly build rapport and trust with a wide variety of individuals and groups, strong problem analysis which unearths underlying causes, insightful questioning and listening and designing highly effective learning situations.
He uses these attributes in the design and delivery of workshops, training programs and coaching in the people relationships and business building areas of business planning, leadership, teamwork, customer service and selling skills, group problem solving, conflict management and negotiation skills and change management.
